ACO Readiness: KHP Demonstrates 40% Improvement

KentuckyOne Health Partners (KHP) continues to demonstrate its readiness to manage risk-based populations.  Most recently, KHP participated in the annual Standards of Excellence Survey sponsored by CAPG.

This survey measures organizations on over 100 specific national NCQA standards and serves as a blueprint for assessing the tools and processes CINs/ACOs have in place to meet the escalating expectations of healthcare purchasers and patients. The survey helps set the bar for healthcare consumers to evaluate a physician group’s technical quality, responsive patient experience, and affordability.  For 2016, KHP improved its rating to 83%, an improvement of 40% from the prior year.  KHP expects to be recognized with the ‘Exemplary’ designation by CAPG.

KHP is the largest Medicare Certified ACO in Kentucky and the 12th largest in the US, with nearly 2,000 providers in KY, OH, and IN and nearly 100,000 managed lives. In 2016, KHP demonstrated a 20% improvement in Medicare quality performance and received for the fourth year in a row recognition by Becker’s Hospital Review as “100 ACO’s to Know.”.  CMS also invited KHP to participate in the Next Generation ACO Model.
