Leaders of KentuckyOne Health hospitals participating in the Medicare Orthopedic Bundled Payment Initiative, along with KHP staff, were pleased to deliver high performance bonus checks to 13 orthopedic physicians across the state. Providers earned the awards by optimizing patient care pathways and exceeding expectations on quality metrics. KentuckyOne Health is the only Medicare approved healthcare providers in the state for this program.
“We are thrilled to be leading the way on value-based programs and optimizing patient care for the Commonwealth,” said Joe Gilene, president of Jewish Hospital.
Bruce Tassin, president of St. Joseph Hospital added, “The orthopedic bundle program has lowered the cost of care and is improving quality for our patients. Participating in this effort has also prepared us for the upcoming cardiac bundle program that is scheduled to begin next year.”
The Orthopedic Bundled Payment Initiative has been implemented in six KentuckyOne hospitals with program management provided by KHP. Collectively the KentuckyOne Hospitals have the best bundled payment performance of all CHI hospitals nationwide.
